JPG to PDF
Turn photos, receipts and scanned pages into one PDF with a picture on each page. You choose the page size, the margin and the order.
Add photos or images: JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and more.
or drop files here
Your files are processed on your own device and never uploaded.
How to use it
- Press ‘Choose files’ or drop your pictures on the page. HEIC pictures straight from an iPhone work as they are.
- Line the rows up in the order you want: drag by the handle, or press ‘Move up’ and ‘Move down’. The top row becomes page 1. Use ‘Remove’ to drop a picture and ‘Add more’ to bring in others.
- Under ‘Page size’, ‘A4’ and ‘US Letter’ give fixed sheets, and ‘Fit to image’ cuts each page to match its picture.
- ‘Orientation’ can stay on ‘Auto’ or be forced to ‘Portrait’ or ‘Landscape’, and ‘Margin’ ranges from ‘None’ through ‘Small’ to ‘Large’.
- Press ‘Create PDF’. When ‘Your PDF is ready’ appears, press ‘Download’ to save images.pdf.
What it does
Each picture fills its page
A picture is scaled to the largest size that fits inside the margin and centered on its page, never cropped and never stretched. Any space left over stays white.
Page sizes for the job
A sheet of ‘A4’ measures 210 × 297 mm, and ‘US Letter’ is 8.5 × 11 in. With ‘Fit to image’ every page is sized from its own picture, counted at 96 pixels per inch, plus the margin.
Photos go in without a second squeeze
A JPG goes into the PDF exactly as it is, so it is not compressed a second time, and PNG pictures keep every pixel. Other types, such as WebP, HEIC and GIF, are first saved as JPG at quality 92, with white behind any transparent area.
Orientation page by page
On ‘Auto’ each page follows its picture: landscape for a wide shot, portrait for a tall one, even inside the same PDF. ‘Portrait’ and ‘Landscape’ force one direction on every A4 or Letter page.
Margins you can picture
With ‘None’ the picture reaches the page edges. ‘Small’ keeps about 0.3 inch (7 mm) clear and ‘Large’ about 0.7 inch (18 mm), a better fit for printing.
Your order, your pages
Drag rows, press the arrow buttons, or hold Alt and tap the up or down arrow key while a row has focus. The top of the list is the first page of the PDF.
Good to know
A phone makes a good scanner when the page lies flat and the light is even. Receipts for an expense claim, a signed form, the sheets of a drawing or a whiteboard shot from three angles all end up as pictures, and one PDF is easier to send than a dozen files. If a photo is sideways or crooked, fix it first with Rotate image, and trim the table edges with Crop image.
JPGs go in untouched, so expect the PDF to weigh roughly what the photos weigh together. When that is too heavy for an email or a portal, shrink the pictures first with Compress image or Resize image and build the PDF from the smaller copies. A small picture is enlarged to fill its page, which can look soft in print; ‘Fit to image’ avoids that because the page is built around the picture.
‘US Letter’ is the standard in the United States and Canada, ‘A4’ nearly everywhere else. For screenshots and artwork that are only read on screen, ‘Fit to image’ is the better fit. The PDF holds pictures, not text, so words in a scan cannot be selected or searched; Image to Text (OCR) can pull them out. A JPG with a rotation flag or CMYK colors is redrawn first and saved at quality 92.
Questions and answers
How do I combine several photos into one PDF?
Add them all, put them in order and press ‘Create PDF’. Every picture becomes a page, and the result is saved as images.pdf.
Do HEIC photos from my iPhone work?
Yes, add them as they are. The first time you press ‘Create PDF’ with a HEIC in the list, the page loads a decoder of roughly 3 MB, once.
Will the photos get blurrier inside the PDF?
Not by much. JPG photos go in as they are, PNGs keep every pixel, and the page only changes the size they are shown at. Other types, and JPGs that need turning upright, are saved as JPG at quality 92 first.
Which page size fits my job?
A fixed size, ‘A4’ or ‘US Letter’, is right for anything headed to a printer or an office desk. ‘Fit to image’ suits screenshots and other files that are only read on screen.
One page came out sideways. How do I fix it?
Turn the picture with Rotate image, then add the saved copy here. ‘Orientation’ only picks portrait or landscape pages; it does not turn the picture.
Can I select or search the text in the PDF?
No. The PDF holds pictures, so the words in a scan are not selectable or searchable. Image to Text (OCR) can read them out of the scan.
