or drop files here
Transparent areas become white in JPG.
Your files are processed on your own device and never uploaded.
How to use it
- Drop your .webp files onto the page, or click ‘Choose files’ and select them.
- Keep ‘Convert to’ on JPG, change ‘Quality’ if you want something other than 90, and click ‘Convert’.
- Click ‘Download’ for one picture, or ‘Download all (ZIP)’ for the whole set.
Good to know
Shops, news sites and social platforms serve WebP because the files are small. Your browser saves what the site sent, so a product shot or a diagram arrives as .webp. Slide software, older editors and many upload forms still list only JPG and PNG, and JPG is the safer choice when the picture is going to someone else.
Two things change on the way. JPG cannot hold transparency, so see-through areas are filled with white; if you need them kept, use the WebP to PNG page. And an animated WebP becomes one still picture. The width and height in pixels stay the same.
Questions and answers
Why did my picture download as .webp?
The site delivers its images as WebP, and your browser saves the file it received rather than the JPG you expected.
Will the JPG look worse than the WebP?
Slightly, in theory: JPG is lossy and the WebP was already compressed once. At the default ‘Quality’ of 90 the difference is hard to notice in photos; raise it for pictures with fine text.
What happens to a see-through logo?
It gets a white background. If the transparency matters, convert it with the WebP to PNG page instead.
